Honduras: El Paraiso – Flowing Water Problems

The dimensions of the cistern are 3x4x2 meters, allowing it to collect 24,000 liters of rainwater. This will help alleviate some of the school’s water problems.

At a school with 350 children, there is no running water for washing hands, etc. Every two weeks, a mobile cistern fills the water supply, which is stored in containers. Additionally, each class must regularly purchase bottled water to address the drinking water issue.

After consulting with a local organization, we decided to build a rainwater collection cistern, as building a well was too difficult and costly. Despite current restrictions, the workers are motivated and happy to help the school.
