The village of Peña Blanca has a population of 270, and 60 students are currently enrolled at the José Cecilio del Valle school across six grade levels, from first to sixth grade, including 28 girls and 32 boys.
At the end of 2022, the school approached us with a request for new desks and chairs for the students, as most of the tables were broken and the chairs unusable.
Thanks to the excellent organization of teacher Xiomara Flores, we were able to find a skilled local carpenter who built 18 desks and 36 chairs in his workshop.
Because the work was carried out with skill and care, we decided to support them a second time, this time with the reconstruction of the small wooden kitchen, which had started to show structural problems.
The new kitchen is now built from bricks and measures 4×4 meters. The work was also completed with good management. The stove is finished, and the first meals have already been prepared. We wish them success and thank Mrs. Xiomara for the great cooperation.
