The kindergarten was built by the Russians in 1987. Currently, 215 children aged 2-6 are enrolled.
Since then, it has never been fully renovated. Due to a lack of funds, only minor repairs have been carried out with donations from parents. The entrance corridor was made of linoleum and had holes everywhere. The bathrooms and toilets have never been renovated before.
Thanks to the support and trust of the German Embassy in Ulaanbaatar, which provided us with financial assistance and the opportunity to participate in the small projects program, we were able to restore the old kindergarten.
The renovation of the kindergarten was completed in mid-December. Up to 50 parents helped renovate the kindergarten their children attend. The 1980s-era kindergarten urgently needed maintenance work. Three full months of hard work! All wallpapers were removed, the walls smoothed, and repainted. All bathrooms were renovated, and some walls were reinforced. Not a single room retained its old condition.
Wooden toys were also delivered by our local carpenter for the construction of the playground.
A fundamental role for us was, as always, the help of our reliable employee Bogi (Jargaltai Huuhdiin Urguu), who coordinated everything and took steps to oversee the work and material purchases both on-site and remotely.
Thanks to the director who coordinated the work in the kindergarten and was truly interested in improving the children’s conditions.
We are proud of everyone who contributed.
