Mongolia: A Sewing School

On November 26, 2019, a sewing school was officially opened at School No. 39 in Ulaanbaatar. Here, boys and girls from the 11th and 12th grades are welcome to participate if they’re interested.

While there has been a handicrafts class for years, all the sewing machines had been broken for quite some time, and the school had no funds to replace them. Therefore, both the teacher and students were thrilled to hear that our organization was willing to donate four sewing machines, along with various supplies and fabrics. The classroom, which was previously a bit dark and used for after-school care, was renovated by a few dedicated volunteers: a new floor was installed, brighter lamps were purchased, and new tables were built. Now, the students can freely express their creativity and craftsmanship.

What is important to us is that the boys and girls have the opportunity to learn something that they can apply in a future job.

We would like to thank everyone who supported us, both locally and from afar!
