April 25, 2015: A devastating earthquake changed the life of an entire country.
In November, we reached out to our local project managers to determine when construction could begin on the school for disabled children. To our surprise, the campaign promoting our project generated an unexpectedly high level of interest, with an additional 70 places being reserved by affected families. This surge in interest also caught the attention of the Ministry of Education, which has now assured us of financial support.
In hindsight, the delay in starting construction seems almost like a stroke of luck. Had the new building been completed before the earthquake, it likely would have been severely damaged, resulting in a significant loss of funds.
While calm is slowly returning, weak aftershocks still occur regularly. Nepal, one of the poorest countries in the world, needs our help now more than ever.
This project is very dear to us, and we are doing everything in our power to find a solution as quickly as possible. We thank you for your continued support and will keep you informed about the progress of this project.
